The Royal Krakow

City life in Krakow is focused around the Market Square which is the second largest in Europe after St. Mark's Square in Venice. In summer, horse- driven carriages, which line up around the square, carry visitors around the city, where cafes and bars around the perimeters of the square are bustling with activity.
The Museum was established within the boundaries of the largest Nazi concentration camp that functioned on the Polish soil during the World War II. Auschwitz was a place of death of millions of citizens from many countries, people of various political convictions and religions, civilians, members of resistance organizations and prisoners-of-war alike.
The historic Salt Mine is the only place in the world where mining has been continued from the Middle Ages. Constructed on nine levels, these excavations strech for over 300 km and reach depth of 327 meters. The Salt Mine is the UNESCO's World Heritage.
Places connected to John Paul II, but located outside the Krakow. The city of Czestochowa rises on the lime hills. Sanctuary and the Pauline Monks monastery were built on the site, and are surrounded by a wall and garden and it is called Jasna Góra (Bright Hill).
Jasna Góra's most valuable treasure is the miraculous painting of Our Lady. Because of this painting, Jasna Góra became Poland's most famous sanctuary among the numerous sites to Marian devotion throughout the country.
The valley of the Prądnik river is the most beautiful part of the local highlands, transformed into the Ojców National Park. The river eroded a deep gorge through the limestone cliffs. The steep cliffs are overgrown with trees through which rock formations can be seen eg.
The castle in Pieskowa Skała houses a museum affiliated to the Royal Castle at Wawel, which is dedicated to the history of Polish interiors from medival times to the 19th century.
Zakopane is undoubtedly Poland’s winter capital, but also offers great possibilities for leisure pursuits in summer. The wild beauty of the country around, the clear mountain streams, the immense forests and most of all the breathtaking landscapes of the Tatra mountains are worth making an effort to see.
